Sprettur – A project supporting education of promising youth with immigrant backgrounds

Sprettur is a new project at the Division of Academic Affairs at the University of Iceland. Sprettur supports promising youth with immigrant backgrounds who come from families where no one has a university education. The goal of Sprettur is to create equal opportunities in education.

Participation in Sprettur starts when the students have three years left of upper secondary school and continues for four years. Participants learn more about themselves, their communities, and higher education. Participants are offered workshops, study groups, cultural events, mentoring, etc.
