There are five companies operating on the Icelandic telephone market: Tal – Nova – Síminn – Vodafone.
As well as general telephony services, these companies also offer Internet connections and services.
Most telephone companies provide SIM cards, landline connections and Internet connection and access.
You can top up prepaid mobile telephone cards in most grocery stores, petrol stations and mini-marts throughout the country. You can also buy special phone cards for calling abroad which are cheaper than normal cards.
