Deadline extended: Are you entitled to a 45.000 ISK sports and leisure support for your child?

Did you know that you may be entitled to a 45.000 ISK grant from your local authority to enable your child to play sports or take part in leisure activities?

 

The application deadline for special sports and leisure grants for children has been extended to 31. of July. The grant amounts to ISK 45,000 for each child.

About the grant (information in more langugages below):

 

As part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, children born in the years 2005-2014 who live in households where the adults supporting them have a total income of less than ISK 740,000 per month, on average, in the months of March-July 2020 qualify for such grants. 

 

You can use the sports and leisure activity grant to pay part of the fees for your child to take part in sports such as football, basketball, gymnastics and other sports, and also music lessons or other leisure activities.
