Iceland’s minister of health has now decided that as of today, Friday 25 February 2022, all public restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be lifted, both domestically and at the border. This means that all rules regarding limitations on social gatherings and school operations as well as the quarantine requirement for those infected by COVID-19 are removed.
When it comes to the borders, there are now no disease prevention measures in place and that applies to those vaccinated as well as un-vaccinated.
- Limits to the number of people at gatherings are none
- Social distancing rules are none
- Masks are not mandatory anywhere
- Restrictions on any kind of operations are no longer applicable, neither the obligation to register guests nor restrictions on opening hours
Even though restrictions are now officially not in effect anymore, everyone is urged to maintain personal infection preventative measures are encouraged to get tested if experiencing symptoms.
