From 1 May through 26 August, necessary dental procedures will be offered at no cost for children under 18 of low-income parents/guardians. Dentists in the University of Iceland's Faculty of Dentistry will determine what dental procedures are deemed necessary, and the services are provided there.

Earth tremors are reported under the summit of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier, in the south of Iceland. The Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management, in consultation with geophysicists from the Icelandic Meteorological Office, have already evacuated the areas to the south of the glacier as a precautionary measure.
