Reykjavík‘s Multicultural Congress  25th of March 2017 

The fourth Multicultural Congress of Reykjavík ‘Let's Talk,' will be celebrated on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at City Hall Tjarnargata 11, 101 Reykjavík Approximately 17.000 immigrants live in Reykjavík from more than 120 countries. The aim of the congress is to open an intercultural dialogue about different issues in regards of living in a intercultural city.

 

As before, The Human Rights Office of Reykjavík prepares and manages the Multicultural Congress in collaboration with Multicultural Council of Reykjavík and the many volunteers that participate.

 

Please register at immigrants@reykjavik.is before 20th of march. Please state your name, ID number (kennitala) and what language group you will participate in.

 

Discussions  at the congress will be on following topics:

Jobs – accessibility of information for immigrants living in Reykjavík about rights and responsibilities of your employer and you as employee.

Housing – accessibility for immigrants to Reykjavík´s rent market

Reykjavík´s Multicultural Day  – Does Multicultural Day reflect well enough the diverse influence immigrants have in the community?

Consultancy for immigrants  – Where to seek assistance and information?

 

Groupwork with discussions leader in 11 languages: Icelandic, English, Polish, Lithuanian, Russian, Thai, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese.

The Congress is from 10 am – 3.30 pm
