  • Pósturinn is the nationwide postal service in Iceland, operating branches throughout Iceland.

  • Posturinn delivers mail both domestically and overseas
  • Posturinn's main branch is located at Pósthússtræti 3-5 in Reykjavík.
  • Stamps can be bought in most bookshops, petrol stations and Nóatún (grocery shops). Pósturinn sells stamps in its branches and online
  • When moving house (or relocating) it is necessary to notify Pósturinn. This can be done through Posturinn's website

Parcels and express courier service

Posturinn delivers parcels and larger objects both domestically and overseas. In addition there are other services available in Iceland specialising in delivering registered letters, express courier service, delivery of parcels, and so on, such as DHL, TNT and UPS.

Household effects and large objects

Landflutningar and Flytjandi both offer services for the transportation of household effects and large objects, both domestically and internationally.

Panel trucks can be ordered with Sendibílastöðin and Nýja sendibílastöðin among other services if the relocation takes place within the Greater capital area or between districts in the larger towns in Iceland.

Póstþjónusta og flutningar

Bréf

  • Almenn póstþjónusta á Íslandi er í höndum Póstsins. Pósturinn er með útibú víða um land og má nálgast lista yfir útibú hér.

  • Hægt er að senda póst bæði innanlands og til útlanda með Póstinum á auðveldan hátt.
  • Aðalútibú Póstsins er í miðbæ Reykjavíkur, Pósthússtræti 3-5.
  • Það er hægt að kaupa frímerki í útibúum Póstsins, í flestum bókabúðum, bensínstöðvum og í matvöruverslunum Nóatúns. Einnig er hægt að panta frímerki á netinu á www.stamps.is
  • Þegar flutt er á milli húsa á Íslandi er mikilvægt að láta Póstinn vita. Hægt er að gera það í gegnum heimasíðu Póstsins.

Pakkar

  • Það er hægt að senda pakka með Póstinum en einnig eru önnur flutningsfyrirtæki á Íslandi sem sjá um slíka þjónustu eins og DHL og UPS.

Búslóðir og stærri hlutir

  • Þegar flytja þarf búslóð eða stærri hluti innanlands er hægt að hafa samband við Flytjanda og Landflutninga. Sömu fyrirtæki geta ráðlagt fólki þegar flytja þarf stærri hluti til útlanda.
  • Þá er hægt að panta sendiferðabíl þegar flutt er innanbæjar eða styttri vegalengdir hjá Sendibílastöðinni og Nýju sendibílastöðinni.
