Parents and Children

If problems arise between parents and children, or the family and a third party, counselling and support services are available at several locations.

The association offers advice on matters relating to fathers and their children, frequently connected to access issues. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 15-18:00.

The emergency line for parents is open 24 hours, all year round. Services are in Icelandic.

Regnbogabörn (association against the harassment of children)

Regnbogabörn is an association for children who are subjected to bullying. The association offers consultation for victims, persecutors and parents. Regardless of language barriers, the association will attempt to solve any cases that arise.

Hitt húsið is a cultural and information centre offering comprehensive advisory services to young people. One programme reaches out to people of foreign backgrounds who live in Reykjavík and are aged 16-25, with Icelanders also being welcome. The centre aims at eliminating social isolation and helping individual youths to integrate. Instructors are available to support young people. Meetings are held once a week, and the consultation times are 9-15:00 every weekday.
